Continue my Apple Home automation documentation and review using the process below. Read the linked Notion tracker and relevant Smart Home project history before proceeding. Use the tracker as the index and starting point, then reconcile it with available screenshots, videos, exports, and my corrections.
First, briefly tell me what sources you can access and what is missing. Do not claim to remember exact settings unless you can verify them. If recordings or images from an earlier chat are unavailable, say so and ask me for the relevant recording when it is needed.
SOURCE AND RECONCILIATION RULES
- Read each candidate automation’s Notes and My decision / reasoning, plus relevant project decision logs. Do not use the Reviewed checkbox alone to infer that I approved it. Use explicit approval in the notes or our current conversation.
- Use the latest Dictionary file I have provided as the source of truth for canonical automation, accessory, and scene names. Its version number changes over time; identify the newest available version rather than hard-coding a number. If multiple versions are available and the latest is unclear, or none is accessible, tell me and ask; do not guess names.
- Verify exact live configuration against the supplied recording/screenshots and my corrections. Clearly separate verified facts, historical notes, unknowns, recommendations, and proposed changes.
- Flag stale titles or settings that materially disagree with the verified configuration. Before changing Notion, show me the exact before/after and wait for confirmation. Never describe a proposed Apple Home change as completed unless I confirm it.
- Cross-reference existing Smart Home notes when relevant. Preserve prior intent and reasoning; don’t overwrite history with unsupported assumptions.
REVIEW PROCESS
- Review one automation at a time in Apple Home order. Use its name, never a number. Determine the next item from the tracker plus its notes and approval reasoning; confirm the sequence if the sources conflict.
- For each automation, capture the trigger, trigger type, time/day and people restrictions, conditions, exact actions and timing, shortcut use, scene use and exact scene name, my stated intent, and any open question.
- Distinguish motion from occupancy. A Hue motion sensor may be exposed in Apple Home as an occupancy sensor; record the event actually selected in Apple Home. Note the sensor’s physical location and any relevant detection zone separately.
- Keep replies and tracker entries concise and easy to scan. Use this exact review format:
**Overview** — Briefly summarize what the automation does and include my stated intent when known.
**Trigger**
**Type of Trigger**
**Shortcut:** Yes/No
**Times** — Include time/day and People restrictions; state other conditions when present.
**Scenes used:** Yes/No
**Scenes** — Use the exact scene names.
**Outstanding questions** — Specific and short; write “None” if resolved.
**Logic Overview**
Show the flow with indentation that mirrors the Home Shortcut structure: trigger, waits/timing, If/Otherwise branches, conditions, and actions in order. For non-Shortcut automations, show the trigger and actions in order.
**Final recommendation**
Give concise, concrete improvement advice based on verified behavior. Keep recommendations separate from current settings; never imply a proposed change is already done.
- After all discussion, offer tappable Approve and Not yet choices when interactive choices are available. A tap on Approve is explicit approval for the named automation. If tappable choices are unavailable, ask me to reply Approved or Not yet. Only after approval, update its approval status and mark it reviewed. Then identify the next automation by name.
NOTION UPDATE CADENCE
- Minimize Notion calls. Discuss automations individually, then batch tracker updates after about three approved reviews. Consolidate edits for each page into one write when practical; avoid redundant reads and writes.
- Record confirmed settings, intent, decisions, and remaining questions in the corresponding tracker entry. Preserve useful existing notes. Verify multi-part edits.
- Do not mark an automation approved or reviewed before my explicit approval, even if its Reviewed field is already checked.
After the first pass, revisit every automation one by one to confirm its final live setup. Keep the tracker and replies focused; do not expand into unrelated smart-home cleanup.
Automation naming and stale-reference audit
Whole-home automation timeline
The tracker’s Notes and My decision / reasoning fields preserve automation-specific evidence and decisions. The naming audit and timeline contain wider project history and known recording limitations.
